Volunteer and make a difference
Volunteering at the East Hawaii Health System is a form of malama, helping your community.
Why Volunteer for the HHSC East Hawaii Region
We want volunteering at the East Hawaii Region to be beneficial for you, the volunteer, and for the East Hawaii Region and the surrounding community. We’ll have you go through an application process so that we can learn more about your interests and expectations while also assessing our volunteer openings at the hospital.
As a volunteer for the HHSC East Hawaii region, you become a part of our ohana. You’ll provide essential services to our patients across one or more of our facilities. Our volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- • Patient support
- • Pet therapy (coming soon)
- • Student opportunities (clinical and non-clinical)
- • Clerical support
- • Chaplains (coming soon)

- • Clearance from our Employee Health and Human Resources departments
