Biography

Phylavanh Phanhtharath graduated in 2001 as a registered nurse. Throughout her nursing career she has worked with the adult and geriatric population in various clinical settings to include: long-term care facilities, health clinics, home healthcare and physical rehabilitation hospitals in Texas. In 2017 Phylavanh practiced neurology as an advance practice nurse in a post acute setting and assisted in the care and management of patients with Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Seizure Disorders and various neurological & neuromuscular disorders. She visited Oahu in 1996 with her family and was immediately drawn in by the Hawaii culture and clear blue water. With the thought of returning to visit one day, Phylavanh soon found her opportunity to practice at Hilo Medical Center and relocated to the Big Island. She is happy to be a part of the Neurology Clinic.
